What is a battery charging cabinet?

A steel cabinet where you charge and store lithium-ion batteries, cordless tools and rechargeable devices in one place. The E Fire Vault watches the inside with a smoke detector while it charges, sounds an audible and visual alarm, and cuts power to the outlets automatically when it detects smoke.

Which size do I need?

Count the chargers you run at the same time. The Compact (EFVSC-3) has 8 outlets and fits small rooms, closets, workstations and service vehicles. The Mid-Size (EFVSC-2) has 16 outlets for maintenance shops, offices and classrooms. The Large (EFVSC-1) has 28 outlets for industrial facilities, fleet maintenance and high-volume charging.

What happens if a battery starts to smoke while charging?

The smoke detector sets off the alarm and the integrated breaker cuts power to the charging outlets. With the optional HAFEX® upgrade, an automatic aerosol fire suppression system adds an active layer of protection inside the cabinet.

What is the HAFEX® upgrade and what does it cost?

An automatic aerosol fire suppression system installed in the cabinet. It adds $400 to the Compact, $600 to the Mid-Size and $900 to the Large. Select "Add HAFEX® Aerosol Fire Suppression" in the Fire Suppression menu before adding the Vault to your cart.

Will my equipment fit?

The Mid-Size interior measures 65.8" H × 21" W × 21" D, and its shelves are adjustable and removable, so tall equipment can stand upright. For interior dimensions of the Compact or the Large, contact us before ordering.

What power does it need?

It runs on 120V and plugs into a standard outlet. All outlets share one circuit, so add up the draw of the chargers you plan to run at the same time. Fast chargers draw more than standard ones.

What does the Vault protect?

The batteries and devices inside it, while they charge and while they are stored. Batteries in use outside the cabinet need their own protection.

Who is E Fire USA?

E Fire USA started in 2019 with the E Fire Ball and has grown into a full fire protection platform: the E Fire Vault for lithium-ion battery charging, portable units, Hafex aerosol suppression and engineered systems. E Fire USA supported the integration of the E Fire Ball platform for drone-deployed suppression in Anduril's autonomous wildfire response testing for the XPRIZE Wildfire Finals.
